Classes at the Cortland Family YMCA are a beautiful and exciting blend of Athletic and Artistic Ballet,
using streamers, flags, and other dance tools. Every month we use a different fairy tale or similar
imaginative base to frame our technique learning.
Our Spring Show tells a classic story and gives kids valuable stage experience working on a full production.
This year is a great show with challenging aspects to it that will be a lot of fun to learn!
Classes are Tuesdays year round! And are in convenient 6 week sessions. Join at the beginning of any session! Try one, stay for all!
All dancers in a class receive the same dance instruments, dance gifts, & opportunities to shine.
No previous dance experience necessary for any class – come ready to work hard while having fun!
The next 6 week session begins Tuesday Sept 9! Watch for New dance styles beginning in October!

Interprative Ballet
Ages 3-6
Tuesdays: 4:30-5pm
This class uses dance games & creative movement to warm up & learn their technique and focus more on grace and learning the basic dance shapes.
We know children learn best when having fun, which allows us to maximize learning and technical development while also inspiring kids to love dance and develop creativity, artistry, kindness, musicality, and self-confidence. Every month we use a fairy tale or similar base for connection to frame our technique learning.
Per 6 week session: $26 w/ Family Membership, $36 w/ Youth Membership, $66 Non-members
Athletic Artistic Ballet
Ages 6-9 (levels 1 & 2a)
Tuesdays: 5:00pm-5:45pm
This class focuses on developing age-appropriate coordination, strength, flexibility,
and musicality in children as well as learning a lot more technique. By making our dance
classes fun, inviting, and imaginative, children can learn so much! We make exploring new
concepts in dance class exciting and our children’s hearts and minds grow and flourish.
Per 6 week session: $30 w/Family Membership, $45 w/Youth Membership, $72 Non-members
Athletic Artistic Ballet
Ages 10 + (levels 2b – 4)
Tuesdays: 5:45pm-6:30pm
In this class dancers feel connected and at home working hard with positive,
energetic people as they gain confidence in themselves and lift others up, realizing it’s not just
about themselves or dance steps- it’s about all they have to share with the world. Classes
continue with more advanced training, drilling, technique & scene work as dancers have fun &
make lifelong friends.
Per 6 week session: $30 w/Family Membership, $45 w/Youth Membership, $72 Non-members
